Sampling for organic protein shakes

Our flavour database gives impulses for assortments

Briefing + Implementation

The customer's request

A customer from the food supplement sector is continuously expanding its product range and would like to offer organic products in the future. As a result, the customer has a particularly large number of requests for samples

The customer requests new samples every 4-6 weeks, but is very reluctant to share project data. This is a challenge for the colleagues in product development and sales.

Task

  • Product ideas and product range consulting
  • Development of new flavour components
  • Adaptations of existing flavour components

The sampling process

Often, the only thing known is what the customer wants from the flavour. The briefing then says: "Blueberry flavour, powder, suitable for organic use".

If more information about the project were available, our experts would have the possibility to select the samples even more specifically for the customer and to advise him. Here, the customer might be thinking of a new wild berry line for his summer assortment. That's why we recommend samples for a wild berry mix, raspberry or the seasonally popular currant. After all, our flavour database has very rarely not already seen a trend. In the meantime, we have helped shape many assortments and the customer involves us earlier. A great sign of trust for our colleagues!

After sampling, the flavourists or field service colleagues of STOCKMEIER Food discuss with the customer whether the taste characteristics of the flavour are suitable. If no adjustment needs to be made, the sales team can also give initial indication prices at this point. Sometimes a re-evaluation of the assortment and the wishes takes place for reasons of profitability. If possible, however, the profitability consideration is already taken into account at the start of the project.
